A House From 1910
High ceilings, wooden floors, fretwork and arched doorways, cared for as the house was meant to be lived in.

Our story
A Victorian-influenced residence in French bahareque, built for one of the families of Paseo Colón and opened today to travelers from everywhere.
In 1910 the residence was built in French bahareque with Victorian-style influences, designed by Luis Llach Llagostera, an architect of Catalan origin.
Bahareque is a frame of wood filled with earth and finished in plaster: light, flexible and well suited to a land of earthquakes. In San José it was dressed with the gables, fretwork and verandas of the Victorian era.
The house is representative of the homes the upper class built along Paseo Colón during the first half of the 20th century. Today it is The Victorian San José Boutique Hotel.
